The Highland Lakes Airshow

was held on Saturday April 4th in Burnet Texas and was part of the Bluebonnet Festival which is held every year at this time. The featured acts this year were Paul Fiala flying his Great Lakes Bi-plane, Randy Ball in his Russian Mig-17, Howard Pardue with his F8F Bearcat, Trojan Flyers in their T-28 Trojan trainers and the highlight of the show was the West Coast Demo Team flying the A-10 Thunderbolt !! which is nicknamed the "Warthog". Newly promoted Major Paul Brown took the A-10 through it's paces showing the crowd how the A-10 is a sturdy, reliable aircraft and was the "tank buster" in the Desert Storm War.

This year the static was a little sparce from other years due to the high cost of insurance and gasoline which kept many aircraft owners to keep their planes in the hangers. This airshow is only run for one day but the members and volunteers help put off a little but great show as they do every year.
