Military Aviation Museum

Virginia Beach, Virginia

Just a few miles south of Virginia’s popular Virginia Beach, you will find the Military Aviation Museum, housing an impressive collection of military aircraft, mostly form WW I and WW II. The 60,000 square foot facility is home to more than 50 aircraft plus numerous related displays.

The Museum is co-located with the Fighter Factory, which is the restoration and maintenance facility which supports the Museum aircraft, most of which are maintained in operational condition.

Tours of the Museum itself are self directed, in other words you can wonder about and admire (but please don’t touch) these rare aircraft. Tours of the Fighter Factory hangar are conducted hourly by a museum staffer and leave from the main entrance. WW I aircraft, mostly replicas, are housed in a WW I era hangar and are included in the the tour of the Fighter Factory facility.

The Museum is reach from I-64 from any direction. The physical address is 1341 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23457. There is a private 5000 foot grass runway, aka, The Virginia Beach Airport, however, it is limited to use by Museum aircraft. Do not plan to land at the facility.

A number of additional restoration projects are underway, including a Mosquito, a Japanese Tony and a P39. A number of special events are hosted during the year, including a summer camp, wings and wheels shows, a WW I airshow and Warbirds over the Beach.

Hours of operation are from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. seven days a week, closed only on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Admission for adults is $10.
