June 28th and 29th Mansfield Air Race Classic: There will be a family festival at the airport following the landings of these historical ladies June 27th. It’s a drive-in and fly-in. The field is open to vendors for crafts, business, non-profit organizations, and food. This Air Race represents 79 years of women in flight and traces its roots back to Amelia Earhart. The 2008 competition will mark only the second time in 30 years that the race has finished in MA. Over 100 women pilots will start in Bozeman, MT flying 50 various airplanes and complete their journey in Mansfield Municipal Airport.
